My top 7 YouTube Channels for kids

My top 7 YouTube Channels for kids

We're not anti-screens, but I am anti-trash.

I hate the YouTube kids algorithm. It treats kids content like candy crush with all the bright flashing lights and noises that remind you of playing the pokies.

We made the decision to ban YouTube Kids, and only let our kids watch pre-approved channels. We watch them as a family on the TV... just like we did in the 90's.

Here are my Top 7:

JetLag The Game: We watch this every evening after dinner. The whole family, on the sofa laughing at a travel game. We're obsessed and I can't recommend it enough.

Smarter Every Day: From every day things to nuclear subs, this channel takes an in-depth look at the science behind things we see every day. Destin is a great science communicator, so if you love knowing how things work, you'll love this channel.

Storror: The most amazing athletic parkour crew you'll ever see! So encouraging of each other and the best challenges. (This channel has some swearing).

TenHundred: The best art channel that brings together fun challenges, other artists and the collabs you dream of as a creative! Your kids will want to do art after watching this.

Half Asleep Chris: Think building challenges with a cat as the main character. This channel is so fun and light hearted.

Myth Busters: If you grew up in the time of scheduled programming, you'll love to introduce your kids to the show that created the YouTube video format. It's a classic and never gets old.

Challenge Accepted with Michell Khare: The worlds most difficult jobs, in 3 days. Michelle tackles all sorts of jobs from a movie stunt woman to a TV anchor.

If you have any favourite channels that you'd love to share, comment below or head to my Instagram feed and share them here.
